Why does fear make a person blind?

Fear changes how people think, react and judge reality. The Bible repeatedly shows that fear can distort vision, weaken faith and push people away from truth.

Why does fear make a person blind?
Fear is one of the strongest forces that affects human behavior. A fearful person often stops seeing reality clearly. They begin to focus only on danger, uncertainty and possible loss. In Scripture, fear frequently appears as the opposite of trust. When the disciples saw the storm, fear made them panic even though Christ was with them in the boat. Fear narrows perspective. It pushes people into survival mode: - self-protection - isolation - anger - distrust A fearful mind exaggerates threats and ignores hope. This is why fear can spiritually blind a person. They stop noticing: - truth - guidance - opportunities - God's presence The Bible does not deny danger exists. But it repeatedly teaches that fear should not rule perception. “Do not fear” appears throughout Scripture not as empty motivation, but as a call to regain clarity. Fear clouds judgment. Faith restores vision.
